Dr. Raphael L'Hoest and Dr. Bastian Alm will present their latest project, which has been their Federal Government's first ever attempt to describe the state and development of local living conditions not only based on available indicators but also by incorporating the results of a survey conducted specifically among citizens in all 400 districts in Germany. This approach allows for the integration of objectively measurable developments with the subjective perceptions and assessments of the citizens, thereby creating a new evidence-based foundation for the Federal Government's policy on equal living conditions. In addition, the regional allocation of funds and the effects of particularly important regional policy measures were comprehensively reviewed. The talk will focus on the results of this new analyses and a discussion of policy measures to further strengthen equal living conditions in Germany.
