Dear Clergy Intern Candidates,
We are excited to announce the Silver Creek Methodist Church Intern Program. We are thrilled that you are considering this opportunity to "see behind the veil" of what it means to serve as a clergyperson. Our mission is to provide aspiring clergy with hands-on ministry experience, offering you the chance to work closely with our pastors and engage in the many facets of pastoral life and leadership.
We aim to cultivate your spiritual journey by providing opportunities to practice ministry under the guidance and mentorship of our Senior Pastor, as well as various retired clergy at Silver Creek Methodist. Your aspiration to follow God's call is both noble and significant, and we are eager to walk alongside you in this part of your journey.
Program Details:
Start Date: Anytime in 2026
End Date: 3 months after start date
Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per week (flexible to accommodate your seminary or work schedule)
Compensation: $600/month
During your internship, you will have the opportunity to engage in various aspects of ministry, including but not limited to:
- Preaching
- Church board models and governance
- Conflict management
- Staff relations
- Church finances and pastor compensation
- Counseling techniques
- Liturgical planning
- Children and youth ministries
- Wesley Class Meetings
- Bible study and Sunday School

At the end of your 3-month internship, we hope you will have gained a deeper understanding of:
- The vital role of laity in the life of the Church
- The wide range of ministry responsibilities that clergy undertake, from pastoral care to leadership
- A clearer sense of God's call on your life for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
