  • Generator Member Gallery Application

Display Period September–March. Application Deadline Monday, August 18th.
  • Hello all Generator members!

The Member Gallery has been a success so we are doing it again!

Would you like to introducing yourself to the community at large, promote yourself, and share the things you make? If so, just fill out this quick application!

The Member Gallery is not a judged or curated show. All members bring value and have the opportunity to apply.

There are seven Member Gallery spaces that will each hold a member’s work for six months. Once your application has been submitted and all criteria have been met, we will select seven members at random to be featured.

The deadline is swiftly approaching so please act fast and submit this application by ***Monday, August 18th***.

Participants will be selected shortly after applications are gathered and the gallery will go up the last week of August for Art Hop on 9/5 & 9/6.

If you have any questions please contact Jake Ducharme at Jake@generatorvt.com or stop by the programs office to the right of the main entrance.

This is the third edition of what we hope to be a long-running program and we are very excited to see what you come up with this time around!

  • FAQ

Q: How do we know the chosen members are selected fairly?
A: Once the application deadline has passed the members selected will be chosen at random. The spirit of this project is not to judge the work of our members. It is to showcase all of our talents, hard work and to inspire each other.

Q: Where do I go with general questions and who do I contact if I need help with this application?
A: Contact Kristin (Compliment Coins) at kmccole@gmail.com.

Q: How long will my work be displayed?
A: Approximately 6 month periods a year. This first one will be September to March followed by March to September repeating.

Q: I don’t have enough time to prepare my work for this. What should I do?
A: Consider applying for the next cohort. We plan to have this be a cyclical process.

Q: What should I do if I am unable to hang my work during the designated time?
A: Reach out to Kristin (kmccole@gmail.com) to talk over options.

    Q: Why am I picking 3 galleries?
A: The galleries vary greatly in size and shape so they are not all equally suitable for people’s work. We want to give people the opportunity to pick their top 3 choices so you can identify the best fit.

Q: How far off the wall can my work go?
A: This will depend on the gallery you are selected for. Gallery 7 by the couches could accommodate space off the wall while galleries 5 and 6 in the ramp hallway could not. If you expect to need a lot of space off the wall please still apply and we can confirm if your work will be suitable for the galleries before we do the drawing.

Q: What if my work is damaged or stolen?
A: We certainly hope this doesn’t happen, but per Generator’s policy, we are not responsible for any damaged or stolen work

Q: Can I add to my gallery space throughout the month?

A: Yes, as long as it meets the criteria. Please check in with Kristin (kmccole@gmail.com) before makking additions.

Q: If I participated in the previous Member Gallery round, can I apply to this one?

A: Thank you so much for participating!! Please wait a cycle to give other members an opportunty. If we don't have enough work to fill all the gallery spaces we may reach out to previous Member Gallery participants to see if they want to round out the space.

    Notes:

Your work must be child appropriate and safe. We have many kids and young campers around the building. Child appropriate will be up to the discretion of Generator staff.

You must have an active Generator membership to participate. If your membership is expired or overdue at the time of drawing you won't be eligible.
