Shortlisted BFI Film Academy applicant group Interviews will be held at the Nerve Centre in Belfast in W/C 2nd September 2024 (Details, dates and Times of Interviews will be communicated to shortlisted applicants)

The Belfast BFI Academy will meet each Thursday evening over the course of the Academy from 4.30pm - 7.00pm at Nerve Centre, Belfast, W5LIFE, Odyssey Complex, Belfast.

Shooting Dates The filming commences W/C 27th October (Halloween half term), Until shooting dates are confirmed you should make sure you have availability for all of this week. The Belfast BFI Academy group will form two film production crews each responsible for one film. There will be one Film Production shoot day (approx 8am-7pm) per film group during Halloween week, with the date to be finalised for each film production crew once locations are locked down.

Please note it is likely there will be more applications than places and applicants will be selected based on their responses and material submitted through this application form. Please use the section to tell us why you’re the right candidate to be accepted on this course.

Why do you want to take part the BFI Film Academy?
Please tell us about your experience and/or interest in Film. This could include your favourite film or television or a class that you have taken at school, for example. If you like, you can submit some work ( a film/photograph/piece of writing/ a website/ an animation etc.) to support your answer. Please provide these links and passwords (if required) below - e.g. to YouTube, Vimeo etc.
Please use this place to tell us if you have any particular areas of interest in film such as directing, programming, screenwriting, visual effects, sound design, etc.
