1. Conditions
- A valid form of identification verifying current address and a valid credit card for security are required to start a rental contract.
- Renter is responsible for damage, destruction, or loss of an instrument beyond generally accepted play wear, unless insured under the rental insurance program.
- The first three months' payment is due at the start of the rental contract.
2. Rental Package
- All rental packages include an instrument, bow, case, and rosin. All instruments are shop-adjusted to meet The Violin Shop's standards, and include new student grade steel or synthetic core strings and a tailpiece with built-in fine tuners.
3. Rental Cost
- Rental price per month (+9.25% TN State sales tax for TN residents only):
Violin - $25.00, Viola - $30.00, Cello - $60.00
4. Equity
- 100% of rental payments (excluding tax, insurance, & late fees) can be accrued as equity.
- Equity may be applied to up to 50% of a purchase of any new, antique, or The Violin Shop labeled instruments (excluding consignments), modern bow, case, or outfit.
- Upon termination of the rental agreement, rental equity will be retained for a maximum of 90 days, after which point it will expire.
- Rental equity can only be used in a single transaction, and cannot be transferred to another
5. Maintenance and Insurance
- Replacement of up to one set of strings and one bow per year, and repairs and/or adjustments required due to a faulty instrument or setup will be covered by The Violin Shop at no cost to the renter.
- Rental insurance is available for an additional cost per month. Insurance is hassle free and covers all repairs, adjustments, and replacement of rental package; excluding loss or theft.
- Rental insurance cost per month: Violin - $5.00, Viola - $6.00, Cello - $12.00
6. Payment
- Rental payment is processed on the 1st of every month by ACH with valid credit/debit card on file.
- Initial 3 mo. payment at contract start may be made by cash, check, or credit/debit card.
- Late Fees - If payment is not received by the 10th of the month, a $5.00 late fee will be added. An additional $5.00 will be added for each month payment is delinquent.
- Delinquency- All renters who are delinquent for 3 or more months, and are unresponsive to 3 or more contact attempts from The Violin Shop will be reported to the local police department as having stolen goods, and/or will be forwarded to a collection agency.
