    EVENT DIRECTOR ROLE

    2025 VICTORIAN YOUTH DRESSAGE CHAMPIONSHIPS

  • The Victorian Youth Dressage Championships are held each January and are the marquee youth dressage event on the Equestrian Victoria's (EV) annual calendar.  As EV continues to broaden participation and elevate the event, we are now seeking Expressions of Interest for an Event Director to work with a passionate and skilled volunteer committee to deliver a fantastic member experience.

    The Victorian Youth Dressage Championships are scheduled to be held at the Werribee Park Equestrian Centre 9 - 12 January 2025. 

    A current Working with Children accreditation is required for this role and EV can assist with the application if required.

    Remuneration will be negotiated and currently includes a base honorarium.

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • An understanding of the sport of Dressage - previous event experience is important.
    • The ability to work well with other people, including volunteers and EV staff.
    • Ability to liaise with and manage suppliers and contractors associated with the event.
    • Continue to develop strong, loyal, mutually beneficial relationships with event sponsors.
    • The ability to coordinate several event projects at the same time.
    • Financial management.
    • Reporting: Provide progress reports as required as well as completion of  post Event Report and debrief.
    • Form a skills-based event committee of at least five (5) people.

    NOTE:   To deliver a successful event, the successful candidate will need to work closely with the EV Staff team.

  • REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

    • Previous experience running EA dressage events.
    • High level of oral and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict management skills
    • Ability to think strategically and ‘outside the square’ and respond appropriately to issues as they arise
    • Sound financial and budgetary management skills
    • Strong planning and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and delegate tasks effectively
    • Proficient computer skills
    • Flexible with hours and tasks (must be available on weekends if required)
    • Current driver’s license and car
