  • Serving at One Eighty

  • One Eighty equips people facing crisis, poverty, and addiction to invest in healthy relationships, overcome barriers to freedom, and encounter a life of hope in Christ. We have opportunities to serve both adults and children.

    Adults: Our 14-month residential program offers residents stable housing, job readiness skills, classes on a variety of life issues, relapse prevention skills, mentoring, Bible studies, and resources to meet their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs

    Youth: Pointing kids to hope in Jesus through Quest for Christ and partner ministries.


    Mentor  

    A follower of Christ who commits to a friendship and discipleship relationship with a resident, experiencing life together during and after their time in the One Eighty program. 

      Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week communication + meet 2x/month for activity. Schedule varies as arranged by you and resident. Quarterly informative coaching sessions hosted by staff and peers.

    Teacher    

    Individuals who use their specific abilities to help encourage and equip our residents to grow their recovery capital by instructing them in Bible studies, life skills, healthy habits, and hobbies.

       Time Commitment: 1 hour per week for morning Bible study or other weekly/monthly arrangement based upon program need and volunteer availability

    Service Team    

    A volunteer who gives their time to help residents achieve goals in specific, practical ways (i.e. driving to appointments, assisting with financial planning, prayer team, resolving legal issues, GED tutoring, family planning/childcare, etc.) 

       Time Commitment: Coordinate schedule based upon need and the resident's schedule

    Quest for Christ    

    Be part of a unique ministry to kids in the public elementary schools in Davenport, Bettendorf and Pleasant Valley that uses games, Bible lessons, activities, and fun to point kids to a life of hope in Christ. 

       Time Commitment: 60-90 minutes per week on a specific day + 15 minutes per week prior to club time to read lessons and pray for the kids. Specific times vary by school - please request options. Onboarding and attendance is mandatory at informational meetings.

    Additional Qualification: Must submit a background check screening

    Youth Partner Ministries

    Help coach a basketball team or work with teens through our partner ministries. 

       Time Commitment: 1-2 times per week in the evenings, depending on your schedule and the program needs

    Additional Qualification: Must submit a background check screening

    We are not seeking volunteers for each area at all times. By moving forward in the volunteer application process, we will gather the necessary information to pair you with the proper opportunity as it becomes available. We will provide you with an anticipated time of need at the time of your screening, and we will keep your information on file if there are no immediate openings at this time.
