REMINDER: ELIGIBILITY FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF GRANT FUNDS

Reimbursement Requests shall only be submitted by Grantee or System Owner, as applicable, upon acheiving each respective Project Milestone (as defined by the Grant Agreement with MEA) below.

• Final Engineering Completion (up to $10,000 of total grant award);
  
  
• System Equipment Procurement (up to 55% of grant funds, inclusive of the Final Engineering Completion Reimbursement, if taken); and
  
  
• Project Completion (remaining balance of grant funds).

Only costs that are consistent with the following requirements are eligible for reimbursement of Grant funds:

• Costs directly incurred by Grantee or System Owner, as applicable (i.e., invoiced);
• Costs directly attributable to the completion of the specified Project, set forth in Attachment B;
• Costs for projected future expenses yet to be incurred will not be reimbursed; and
• MEA will only reimburse Grantee or System Owner, as applicable, for eligible expenses up to the amount specified in the Grant Agreement.

How to Calculate Reimbursement Amounts

The table below provides instructions on how to calculate the reimbursement request amount, based on the Project Milestone it is for.

REMINDER: ELIGIBILITY FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF GRANT FUNDS

Grantee may submit up to four (4) invoices per grant period at the completion of each milestone detailed below.

Milestone 1- Final Design & Engineering
Grantee may request up to ten percent (10%) of the total grant award upon completion of all final design and engineering work.

Milestone 2 - Permitting & AHJ Approvals
Grantee may request up to ten percent (10%) of the total grant award after obtaining all required permits and approvals from the authority having jurisdiction.

Milestone 3 - Groundbreaking
Grantee may request up to fifty percent (50%) of the total grant award after completing all necessary site preparation, including repairs or retrofits, and procuring all major equipment (including solar panels, battery energy storage system, and inverters).

Milestone 4 - Installation & Interconnection
Grantee may request the remaining 30% of the total grant award after project installation is complete, utility Permission to Operate has been granted, Maryland Solar Renewable Energy Credit certification has been obtained, and the final report has been submitted to MEA.

• Costs directly incurred by Grantee or System Owner, as applicable (i.e., invoiced);
• Costs directly attributable to the completion of the specified Project, set forth in  Section 8 of your Grant Agreement (Grant-Specific Information);
• Costs for projected future expenses yet to be incurred will not be reimbursed; and
• MEA will only reimburse Grantee or System Owner, as applicable, for eligible expenses up to the amount specified in the Grant Agreement.
