NIH Fellowship Writing Group
We are excited to support your application for an extramural NIH fellowship (Due in December 2025)! This writing group will take place on Zoom each Monday at 1 pm EST starting Sep 8th to Nov 10th. Written sections will be due each Thursday at 12 pm EST. Trainees will peer review work in groups before the weekly Zoom session and discuss edits/comments in Zoom breakout rooms. Participants will need to have a webcam to participate in small group discussions.
Commitment Expectation
The time commitment will be 1 hour in-person and about 6-8 hours of homework each week. You should only register if you can commit 100% participation in this group.
Grant Types

Rutgers PhD students can earn independent study for 1 credit for completion of all fellowship components and peer review. The course is 9300S Independent Studies in Biomedical Science. Do you plan on enrolling for this credit? If so, Dr Aleksunes will send you the paperwork. To earn the credit, you will need to submit ALL sections including a final research strategy which will be due in early December.
