Marriage License

In Virginia, the couple MUST obtain a valid civil marriage license from the Clerk of the Circuit Court BEFORE proceeding with Islamic marriage. The marriage license must be valid and unexpired at the time of officiating the Islamic marriage. The officiating Imam will complete and return it to the court to make your Islamic marriage legally official.

Bride's Guardian (Wali) Information

The Wali (guardian) is required for the bride and must be an adult Muslim male, typically the bride’s father or closest male relative. If the bride’s Wali is not Muslim, the officiating Imam will serve as the Wali for the marriage. However, the non-Muslim Wali may be required to still sign the marriage certificate for record-keeping purposes.

Office Meeting Only (30 mins)

30 minutes meeting to officiate the Islamic Marriage (just the groom, bride, wali and witnesses in the Imam's office).

Masjid Ceremony (2 hrs)

Full Islamic marriage at Quba, including two big separate halls for men and women for 2 hours. Fees include marriage fees ($400) and hall rental fees for 2 hrs ($500).

Islamic marriage ceremony performed at your chosen venue outside the mosque. The Imam will officiate and be present for up to 30 minutes.
