  •  Warm Welcome Grant Application Form 2024-25

  • Criteria for Warm Welcome Grants for winter of 2024/2025 South West Peninsula District

    Following the success last year of the warm spaces in Cornwall, the District has allocated a sum of money from the District Advance Fund to support Circuits wishing to create spaces and provide free refreshments during the winter months in response to the cost of living crisis/energy crisis. From the evaluation of feedback last year, it was found that although the provision was targeted at those struggling to pay for heating – the feedback indicated that most people attended the spaces to combat social isolation. Warm Welcomes are intended for people to link into their local church and community - through friendship and the warm Christian welcome that they receive in the place where they live, through the Methodist Church - which is hosting this valuable service.

    The expectation is that those who receive district grant money will register their space on the Warm Welcome interactive map. Not only is this a quick and easy way to advertise your space, many services such as social prescribers are able to access the information easily. This is how we get the word about what is going on in local Methodist Chapels and Churches.     In order to ensure the best use of money, the Grant funding is on a sliding scale.  For Warm Welcome spaces open once a month the grant is £250, open fortnightly is £375, open once a week is £500 and those open 3x or more a week is £1000 grant. 

    Grant awards are subject to completion of the Application Form below ensuring your provision meets the Warm welcome criteria.  Support and help can be given for this if required.

  • Church Bank Details

    Grants are paid by BACS – please give details of the account into which any approved grant should be paid.  Grants will only be paid into Methodist bank accounts. When grants have been approved, payment will be made to your Church account on the 15th of the month following approval.

  • When you have submitted your form you will receive an email confirmation with a copy of the information you have provided.

  • Should be Empty:
