Liability Waiver
We welcome all to Learning 4 Life Farm (L4L Farm)! Our farm offers multiple experiences including: animal programming, beekeeping, garden and farm projects. We value the educational and therapeutic benefits that these activities provide, but it is important to understand and acknowledge the associated risks. Please carefully read and sign this consent and release of liability form before participating in any activities at Learning 4 Life Farm.
Farm and Animal Interaction Rules:
Participants may interact with animals, bees, and engage in general farm activities during site hours under the guidance and supervision of Learning 4 Life (L4L) Farm staff. No one is allowed on the Learning 4 Life Farm property or in designated areas without L4L Farm staff present. All animals at the farm deserve respect and kindness. No teasing, hitting, pulling tails, hair, ears, or any harm to them will be allowed. Lower voices should be used in the presence of animals and bees.If an animal is demonstrating signs of stress, tiredness, or agitation, only L4L staff will be allowed to engage with them. Climbing fences or sitting on fence posts is strictly prohibited. Nothing is to be thrown into animal areas or beehives. Animals and bees are not to be fed anything without the permission of L4L Farm staff. All of our facilities are non-smoking. Please refrain from smoking on the property and do not dispose of any cigarettes around the animals, beehives, hoop house, or gardens. We are at a farm! You will get dirty and thus, proper footwear and clothes that can get dirty is required. No open-toed shoes or shoes without backs are permitted. Rubber mud boots are required for all participants when working in areas with animals, dry lot and pastures. Participants may provide their own boots or the farm will provide a pair
Allergies: If your child has allergies to animals, bees, their feed, or other plants on the property, please administer necessary medication prior to participating in any activities at the farm. Please have your child bring their EpiPen if they have severe allergies. Although planned, animals may choose not to participate in job *We do have EpiPens on site during the beekeeping sessions. An Epipen will only be administered to a student or staff member in the case of a severe reaction to a bee sting that causes breathing difficulties or other signs of severe reaction.
