This program is for you if:
- You are a 6th - 8th grader at a school in Mecklenburg County.
- You LOVE creative problem solving and critical thinking.
- You are a strong problem solver and enjoy a challenge.
- You want to keep our planet clean.
- You have someone that can drop you off and pick you up for weekly sessions and Saturday Field Trips
Interested students are asked to submit this application by Friday, September 13th 2024, at 9 p.m. Unfortunately, we are limited to only 20 participants. Due to high demand a waitlist will be created for students in the ordered they registered. Students and families will be notified by email or text message if they were chosen for participation by Friday, September 20, 2024. By accepting, you are committing to consistent weekly attendnce.
Thanks to the generous support from the Women's Impact Fund, and other contributors there is no charge to students to participate in this program. All technology and program supplies will be provided. Digi-Bridge is committed to providing access and building a diverse community of STEAM learners, thus 80% of spaces in this program will be reserved for students who attend Title I schools.
Program Dates: In order to participate you must commit to attending the weekly Tuesday sessions and the monthly Saturday field trips.

Accepted students will receive a phone going over the expectations, guidelines and structure of the cohort. We will review the calendar, touching on meeting dates, potential field trips, and the capstone project.

Thanks to the support of Honeywell and American Airlines, students will have the opportunity to explore sustainable aviation at the Sullenberger Aviation Museum.
Units of Exploration
Oct 22 - Nov 19: Fossil Fuels & Environmental Sustainability
Students will explore fossil fuels, mining, carbon emissions, and the effect they have on our environment.
Jan 7 - Jan 28: Urban Solutions
Students will discuss Urban Planning, Population Growth, Urban Sprawl, and Charlotte 2040.
Feb 4 - Mar 4: Clean Energy Solutions
Exploration of clean energy sources such as wind, solar, hydro, and the potential of nuclear power.
Mar 11 - Apr 1: Capstone Project
Students will showcase what they have discovered throughout the cohort at our Showcase event on April 1.
Field Trip Dates: We will take 4 field trips throughout the cohort on varying dates, based on the CMS school calendar. Fields trips are paid for by Digi-Bridge and at no cost to families. Tentative dates are listed below:
