Flinders University is pleased to offer the inaugural International Men’s Day awards, which seek to identify and celebrate positive male role models in the South Australian community who make a significant contribution in the following categories:
- Sports
- Research
- Community
- Teaching
- Media
Entries in any category might consider the following in their application:
- Demonstrated positive impact in your category: What problem, opportunity or societal issue does your activity/action address? To what extent has your activity/action improvedoutcomes for your community?
- Innovation: What makes your activity/actions innovative in concept, objective, approach, design, delivery or content?
- Collaborative approach: How, and by whom, was this activity initiated? What role did eachparty play in identifying the challenge, determining goals and designing the activity/actions?What ongoing role do the parties play in this initiative? Have you encountered and overcomeany obstacles in this relationship? What were the principles that guided your collaboration?
- Sustainability and scalability: Is there any evidence of your activity/actions being adopted ormaintained by recipients of your role modelling?
Who can apply
These awards are open to any member of the South Australian community who is actively championing being a positive role model.
Prize
Recognition from Flinders University in the form of inaugural award, trophy, cash prize of $1000, free registration and seating at the VIP table for the 19th of November event, and opportunity for media coverage and press release to engage with Flinders University to create a positive impact in the spaceof celebrating positive role models in the community.
How to apply
- Applications can be submitted before mid-night on the 27th of October.
- Applications are welcome from nominators and self-nominators alike.
- Applications will be judged only in the category for which they have been submitted and canbe applied in one category only.
- Supporting evidence including links to websites, media articles, letters of endorsement willbe accepted and not included in the total word count.
