Rural Media are the lead partner of the West Midlands for the 2024-25 BFI Film Academy Short Course Programme.

Rural Media deliver two Film Academy Short Courses in Herefordshire, Worcestershire & South Shropshire, AND Sandwell, Walsall & Birmingham.

We are proudly partnered with MediaActive who deliver in Shropsire, Telford & Wrekin and Flatpack Festival who deliver in Stoke & Stafforshire.
Eligibility Criteria:
This application form is for young people interested in being part of Flatpack Festivals Stoke & Staffordshire upcoming Autumn BFI Film Academy Short Course Programme 2024-25.

This is a fully funded course, and is free to sucessful partisipants although places are limited and this means you're application may not be sucessful. please include as much information as you can in your application to give you the best chance of sucess.

To understand more about our Film Academy Short Course Programme, what it entails, alumni progression, applicant eligibility critera, when and where it'll take place and register for a free online information session. All information can be found HERE.

Applications open on Tuesday 6 August and close on Friday 27 September 2024.

- Applicants must be able to attend all Autumn course dates and times which can be found on the main page (linked above) to be eligible for shortlisting.
- Applicants must complete all required sections of the application form.
- In the application form, there will be a chance for applicants to share their creative talents by providing links to examples of work made already to support their statements further.
- Ensure hyperlinks and passwords are valid when providing examples of work.
- We urge applicants to be aware that there will be more applications than places available, and it is a highly competitive process as we will only accept 20 successful applications. Therefore, encourage participants to sign-up and attend the available information sessions to get further details about the course and get tips on their application linked above.
