Terms & Conditions
The Japan Independent Rally is a service offering information for cruisers sailing to Japan and connecting you to other sailors heading in the same direction. This is not a fully supported rally service. Island Cruising provides information to help you get prepared for this voyage, but it does not include weather routing. You will also need to do your own due diligence on the places you visit. Undertaking an offshore passage and navigating in the Pacific & on to Japan comes with risks. You can expect to encounter challenging weather conditions and poorly charted areas. Maritime Law states that the safety of the vessel and her crew is the sole and inescapable responsibility of the skipper. She/he must do their best to ensure the yacht is seaworthy, fully equipped with the appropriate safety equipment, and manned with experienced crew who are physically fit to face bad weather and who know where the safety gear is kept and how it is used. The skipper must be satisfied as to the soundness of the hull, spars, rigging, sails and that all the safety gear on board is properly maintained and stowed. It is the exclusive responsibility of the skipper to decide whether to set out on a voyage, to participate in any rally activities or to continue in the advent of adverse weather. We expect rally participants to follow our rally values/code of conduct to act safely and respectfully of the places we visit. Our full terms & conditions can be found on our website.
