ā° Indigenous Land:Ā We acknowledge the lands weĀ will be staying and recreating onĀ have been stewarded by the Kumeyaay peoples for millennia. This land was taken from them without their consent in theĀ process of colonization, which is ongoing and has real effects on those still alive today.Ā We pay respects to the Kumeyaay elders, past present and future, and we honor them as the contemporary custodians of this land.Ā This land acknowledgment is only one step toward decolonizing, and we must continue to learn and support in other ways as well.Ā We will share more resources during the weekend and you can begin learning more here.
