Are you a carer who wants to be involved in the development and shaping of services in South Lanarkshire?
South Lanarkshire University Health and Social Care Partnership (SLUHSCP) is looking for a new carers representative for the Integrated Joint Board (IJB). This is a voluntary position to represent carers in South Lanarkshire.
As the IJB Carers Representative, Lanarkshire Carers and South Lanarkshire University Health and Social Care Partnership will support your participation and involvement in the planning, resourcing and operational oversight of local health and social care services.
Your skills, knowledge and experience of caring will help ensure we get it right for carers in South Lanarkshire.
By joining the IJB Board, you will:
- Represent and champion the views of carers at the IJB, Strategic Commissioning Group, Carers Partnership, and other local and national strategic groups.
- Contribute to the good governance regarding the IJBs statutory obligations.
- Help to shape the planning of future services and service delivery in South Lanarkshire.
- Access learning, development and support to enable you to fulfil your role, and achieve personal outcomes.
The role requires the IJB Carers Representative to:
- Attend four IJB meetings per year.
- Attend the Strategic Commissioning Group and Carer Partnership Group Meetings.
- Update and feedback to Lanarkshire Carers Connected which is a forum open to all carers in South Lanarkshire.

The duration of tenure for the role is three years and is voluntary, with relevant expenses paid.
We plan to hold an Information Evening on Tuesday 17 September 2024 (details below) at which you can learn more about the role, how you will be supported and meet our current IJB Carers Representative.
