Describe your research proposal in detail. In addition to how you plan to utilize NIBRS animal cruelty data, please make sure to include the following information in your proposal:
- The problem: Start by describing the problem or knowledge gap that your research proposal is seeking to address. If citing current literature, please attach a reference list under "Additional Documents" on page 3 of this application.
- Specific aims: Clearly describe each of your research objectives.
- Methods: Clearly and concisely state the methods you will use to address the research question(s) and include all variables. Please discuss the feasibility of your plan and challenges you may need to face.
- Analysis: Describe your outcome measures and plan for analysis.
As a reminder, it is essential that analysis of NIBRS animal cruelty must data play a central part in the proposed research project. NIBRS animal cruelty data must be accessed via one of the following sources: the Center's website, the FBI’s Crime Data Explorer, or the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data (NACJD). Applicants must clearly state which source they will use to access the data.
