City of Fruita's annual Truck 'N' Treat is an event that gives youth and their families the chance to explore a variety of vehicles and equipment including construction, oil field, emergency, law enforcement and recreation vehicles. It also provides a safe alternative to trick-or-treating. You are invited to participate in this year's event, which will be held on October 19, 2024 at The Fruita Civic Center located at 325 E Aspen St in downtown Fruita. The event will take place from 10:00am-12:00pm in the parking lot and surrounding streets of the Fruita Civic Center. Please plan to have your vehicle parked at your area no later than 9:30am before the trick-or-treaters arrive. I will email out a map the week before the event. Please have your application turned into us by October 4, 2024. Select extra large vehicles will be asked to come at an earlier time to make sure they are in place before other vehicles arrive. The 20th Annual Tricked-Out Truck award will be given out to the vehicle/driver with the most creative theme, decorations and/or costumes. The winner will be awarded a certificate and will have a plate engraved for the plaque hanging in the Community Center lobby. Participating vehicles are asked to distribute candy or other giveaways. We expect approximately 2,500 kids. Please remember, this is not a sales event, so any items handed out should not be sales related. Recreation staff will be circulating the parking lot at City Shops in the morning to assist with parking. Coffee will be provided inside the Civic Center building for vehicle/event participants. If you would like to participate, please fill out the attached application and return as soon as possible. Please contact me if you have any questions or know of another company or driver who may be interested in participating in this event.
Sincerely,
Ben Booth
