Dear Parents and Guardians: The Code of Student Conduct (COSC) is aligned to recent local, state, and federal mandates with an emphasis on promoting a safe learning environment to ensure academic success. The COSC sets the standards of conduct expected of students in a purposeful safe learning environment in which the principles of care, courtesy and respect for the rightsof others is valued. It also addresses the role of the parents/guardians, the students, and school, but also focuses on core values and model student behavior, rights and responsibilities of students, addressing student behavior, and disciplinary procedures. It is important that parents/guardians, along with their child take the time to review the cosc. There have been some substantive revisions that both parents/guardians and students need to review. Furthermore, it should also be noted that behaviors committed on or off the school campus may be violations of the COSC and may also be violations of Florida law. These violations may result in disciplinary actions imposed by local law enforcement authorities, in addition to those beaccessed school/district.by visiting http://ehandbooks.dadeschools.net/policies/90/index.htm. If you do not have access to the internet, you may go to your child's school and request to review the Code of Student Conduct manual. Please take the time to review and discuss the importance of the Code of Student Conduct with your child or children. After reviewing the Code of Student Conduct, you and your child/children must sign, date, and return the accompanied Parent Receipt and Acknowledgement Form to your child's school within 5 school days. I consider each and every parent/guardian a valuable partner of Miami-Dade County Public Schools and recognize that you share the same goal as all of our schools, which is to create a safe learning environment that promotes academic success. Estimados padres de familia y tutores: El Código de Conducta del Estudiante (Code of Student Conduct, COSC), está alineado a los mandatos recientes de nivel local, estatal y federal, con enfasis en la promoción de un ambiente de aprendizaje seguir para asegurar el éxito académico. El COSC establece los estándares de conducta que se espera de los estudiantes en un ambiente seguro y con propósito, en el cual se valoran los principios del cuidado, la cortesía y el respeto por los derechos de los demás. También aborda el papel que juegan los padres de familia / tutores, estudiantes y la escuela, pero tambien se enfoca en los valores básicos y el comportamiento modelo del estudiante, los derechos y responsabilidades de los estudiantes, con respecto al comportamiento y a los procedimientos disciplinarios. Es importante que los padres de familia / tutores, junto con sus hijos, dediquen un tiempo para revisar el cosc. Ha habido revisiones sustantivas que ambos, los padres de familia / tutores y estudiantes deben revisar. Además, también se debe notar que los comportamientos en o fuera del plantel escolar pueden violar el coscy pueden además violar la ley de la Florida. Dichas violaciones pueden resultar en acciones disciplinarias impuestas por las autoridades locales del cumplimiento de la ley, además de las de la escuela o del distrito. Por favor, dedique tiempo para revisar y discutir la importancia del Código de Conducta del Estudiante con sus hijos. Después de revisar el Código de Conducta del Estudiante, usted y sus hijos deben firmar, fechar y entregar el adjunto Formulario para Padres de Familia de Recibo y Confirmación a la escuela de sus hijos dentro de 5 jornadas escolares. Acknowledgment of Receipt and Review Each parent/guardian of a student and each student enrolled in Miami-Dade County Public Schools must sign and return this page to the student's school to acknowledge that he/she has accessed the online version or obtained a copy of the Code of Student Conduct. In addition, this page servesas acknowledgement that you have reviewed the Code of Student Conduct with your child. Each school will maintain records of such signed statements.
