About The Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP)

The Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CRTPO) is partnering with Kimley Horn and Civility Localized to hold a series of equity focus groups for input in the development of the 2055 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP).
  • The Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) defines the policies, programs, and projects to reduce congestion, improve safety, support land use plans, and provide mobility choices in the CRTPO planning area (Iredell, Mecklenburg, and Union counties). The MTP is updated every four years and produces a fiscally constrained project list to be completed over the next 20+ years. It considers all modes of surface transportation (driving, bicycling, walking, riding transit, freight movement) and addresses impacts to the environment, the economy, public health, and overall quality of life.
  • Sign up for an Equity-based Focus Group

We're excited to invite you to join an equity-based focus group for the 2055 MTP. Staff from Civility Localized will review the 2055 MTP goals and objectives with you and seek your input on them. You will also be asked to share about your transportation and mobility experiences and suggestions for areas that need improvement.
  • Your voice is crucial in shaping the future of transportation in our region, and we want to hear from you! Sign up to share your thoughts and ideas. We’re offering both virtual and in-person sessions to make it easy for you to participate. There will also be translation service available upon request. Each participant will receive a (twenty-five dollar) gift as a thank you for their time and valuable input. Let's work together to create a better future for transportation in our community. We can't wait to hear from you. If you have questions, please contact Judy Dellert, CRTPO Public Participation Planner, at judy.dellert@charlottenc.gov.
