PURPOSE
Provide contamination protocol for dirty work in cleanrooms through use of dirty work permits once cleanroom has reached Protocol Level 3 stage.
SCOPE
Cleanroom Dirty Work Permit Application must be submitted for approval prior to commencement of any work activities within a cleanroom space that have the potential to affect cleanroom quality standards with regard to particulate count, airborne molecular, airflow, vibration, fumes or other contaminants.
CLEANROOM DIRTY WORK INCLUDES:
- Use of “non-cleanroom” or “dirty” materials that may contaminate the cleanroom.
- Use of fume, odor, and outgassing-producing materials.
- Cutting, welding, coring, drilling or other abrading activities.
- Vibration producing activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Submittal of application by Requestor
- Approval of application by Austin Commercial
- Compliance of approved permit by Requestor
EQUIPMENT MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Portable Cleanroom HEPA vacuum cleaner to control particle contaminants emitted during a dirty work procedure.
- Portable or bubble enclosure / partition that effectively controls partical contaminates preventing their escape to the cleanroom.
PROCEDURE:
- Scan the QR code in the Cleanroom Protocol Level 3 Training Presentation, or at one of the manned protocol stations to access the Permit Application.
- Fill out the Application, being sure to include all requested information after coming up with a solid plan.
- Submit the application and wait for approval or response. Meet with approver at location to discuss if needed. DO NOT start any work until permit approval received.
- Provide crew lead with electronic copy of approved permit. Ensure compliance to permit by all work crew.
- Clean all contamination from enclosure area as well as from all items brought into enclosure prior to enclosure removal, remove enclosure and notify approver when complete.
