About foster care.
Foster care is temporary care provided by responsible, compassionate and caring adult volunteers willing to better a pets life until they can be adopted and placed in their forever homes.
Providing a good home environment with the right socialization, nutrition and loving care, gives the pets a better opportunity to find forever homes quicker with less adjustment and stress when entering the new home.
We do not operate a shelter, and we rely on our foster homes for both the pets and The Wyatt Project to have success in our adoption program. By doing this it increases the number of pets we can potentially save from kill shelters and terrible situation.
The Wyatt Project will provide all items for our pets to thrive in their foster care environments. This will include, but not limited to, Food, litter, crates, bedding, toys and other items for their safety or wellbeing mental or physically. The Wyatt Project will provide necessary medical care for a foster and provide continued support and direction to the foster family.
The foster parents responsible will be to keep the pet safe and secure, provide adequate food, water, affection and respect, exercise enrichment, socialization, basic obedience and house training as needed to make the foster pet more adoptable and better suited in a forever home. The foster pet will need to be returned if at any point The Wyatt Project requests so. You understand you cannot promise anyone or imply that you have authority to approve any potential adoptee. The Wyatt Project will continue ownership of all pets placed in foster care. The foster parent is responsible for transporting the foster pet to and from adoption events and vet appointments as required unless other arrangements are made.
Foster services are performed voluntarily and is understood there will not be any promise of salary, compensation or payment in any way.
