The main objective of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 is to promote equality of opportunity in Western Australia and to provide remedies in respect of discrimination on the grounds of the Act. The Commissioner carries out this role by conducting community education and training, investigating and conciliating complaints of discrimination, and providing information to the community about equal opportunity.

To make a valid FOI access application you must give enough information to enable the requested documents to be identified. Many fields in this form are optional. Please complete what you can to assist the agency to better understand what you are seeking and to deal with your application effectively and efficiently.

Application Fee

There is no application fee if you are seeking your personal information only.

There is a $30 fee payable for an application for non-personal information.

The fee may be refunded when a payment is made in error, or if you withdraw your application. Refunds are processed back to the orignal payment source with 7 days of approval. Please contact the receiving agency to commence the refund process.
