We are conducting a research study to collect GPS data from participants. This data will be used for constructing and evaluating a user mobility graph and for Points of Interest (POI) extraction.
We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. To ensure your privacy, the following techniques are employed:
- Unique Identifiers: Each participant is assigned a unique identifier that is not linked to their personal information. This ensures that the data cannot be traced back to you.
- Location Data Anonymization: While GPS data inherently carries the risk of re-identification, we anonymize the data by rounding timestamps and obscuring specific location details that could directly reveal your identity.
- Encryption: This encryption ensures that even if the data was accessed by unauthorized individuals
- Access Control: Access to the raw data is strictly limited to our authorized research members
These measures are designed to ensure that your identity and privacy are fully protected throughout the study.
