Opera Workshop Requests
Welcome to the Synchromy Opera Workshop! We're thrilled you're considering taking part in our Opera Readings program, a unique opportunity designed to help composers refine their operatic projects. At Synchromy, we understand how crucial it is for composers to see and hear their work in progress, especially when creating something as intricate as an opera. The journey of composing an opera comes with significant financial and logistical hurdles, and our goal is to help alleviate those challenges by providing resources to composers like you. While this isn’t a commissioning program, it offers you the invaluable experience of workshopping your opera-in-progress with professional musicians, all in front of a small, supportive audience. Whether your piece is still under development or has been significantly revised since its premiere, this program could be the perfect fit for you. Although we are unable to offer financial compensation to composers and librettists, we also do not charge for participation. We cover all the associated costs, giving you the rare opportunity to hear your work performed with live instruments. As part of the program, you'll receive costumed photos and a video recording of the reading, which you can use to promote your piece moving forward. Additionally, you'll benefit from audience feedback through comment cards, a post-performance Q&A session, and a reception where you can network with attendees and receive further insights into your work.We look forward to hearing about your work!
