Payments
Accepted forms of payment include:
- EFT’s – must be sent at least 2 business days prior to your visit. You must include booking number, school name, and date of self guided visit with your payment.
- Business Cheques – must be presented upon arrival and made out to Assiniboine Park Conservancy
- Visa, Mastercard, debit, or cash – must be presented upon arrival
- We do not provide invoices for Self-Guided visits.
Teachers, Group Leaders, and Chaperones
- Class and group behaviour is the responsibility of the chaperones.
- Chaperones who fall within these ratios are included free of charge
- Chaperone ratios are rounded to the closest 10 students based on student grade level. Additional adults will be charged at a discounted rate.
- Educational assistants for specific children and 1:1 aides and support persons are admitted free of charge.
- Bus drivers receive free admission.
- Please ensure all children are supervised AT ALL TIMES for their own safety as well as the safety of the animals, plants & other guests.
- The maximum number of children/students in our gift shops at one time is 10. They must be accompanied by at least one chaperone. NO BACKPACKS ALLOWED IN GIFT SHOPS.
Lunches
- Lunches are eaten outdoors at The Leaf and Assiniboine Park Zoo. During the winter months (November – April) accommodations may be made by advanced request ONLY.
- It is recommended that groups bring a wagon for lunches and bags as there is nowhere to refrigerate or store them during your visit.
- Limited water fountains are available in the Zoo and The Leaf. Please bring refillable water bottles.
- No outside food or drink inside Tundra Grill – if you are interested in School & Group Food Orders click here for more information.
- No outside food or drink in Gather Craft Kitchen & Bar.
Cancellations
- If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so as soon as possible.
- Assiniboine Park Zoo is an all-weather facility – please dress appropriately.
- Temperatures in the biomes at the Leaf will fluctuate depending on the season, time of day, and weather outside. They will typically range between 24°C to 36°C from early spring through late fall and 15°C to 26°C in the coldest months of winter. The biomes tend to be cooler in the morning and evening, reaching their peak in the afternoon. There is a complimentary public coat room available for use.
Booking Policies
- Self-Guided visits are booked on a first-come, first served basis. We do not accept walk-ups.
- Please book your visit at least two weeks in advance for non-peak months and up to three months in advance for May and June as certain dates may be unavailable.
- Entry to The Leaf is date and time specific. If your chosen date/time is unavailable we will do our best to find another option.
- For better guest experience during your visit to the biomes we suggest you separate into smaller groups (1:10).
- All policies and pricing are subject to change without notice.

- We reserve the right to ask a group that is disruptive, or present a danger to themselves or others, to leave The Leaf or Zoo without compensation.
- Please leave the following items at home: plastic straws, pets, flying discs, balls, skate boards, wheelie shoes, balloons etc. For a full list of Zoo rules click here and Leaf rules click here.
After your visit has been booked
- A confirmation email will be sent to the booking contact based on the numbers you have provided. This may be delayed depending on the number of requests that we receive.
- We understand that numbers can change. If you need to make adjustments, you can do so up to 2 days prior to your visit.
- To provide final numbers, please contact us by email to groups@assiniboinepark.ca with your updated numbers, along with your booking number. Otherwise you will be charged for the numbers on your original booking form.
- Please note that any additional students and chaperones beyond your confirmed amount will incur extra charges.
Upon arrival
- For visits to Assiniboine Park Zoo please arrive at the Main Zoo Entrance 2595 Roblin Blvd.
- For visits to The Leaf please arrive at 145 The Leaf Way.
- Bus parking is in the Special Events parking lot 54 Zoo Drive.
- One person is to pay for all group members that are on site at time of entry. We do not hold tickets for late arrivals.
**Please have the leader of the group pay at the ticket window while the rest of the group remains outside. We will wave in the rest of the group once at atrium clears to prevent crowding. **
