Eligibility: Open to PK-12 public schools, state-approved private schools and state/school district approved charter schools in the NEWESD 101 service area (Adams, Ferry, Lincoln, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Stevens and Whitman counties).
Deadline for applications: Proposals are accepted year round, with funding decisions made two times per year. Rolling application deadlines: September 15 (extended to September 30 for the 2025-26 school year) and December 15 each year. Funding will be awarded in late October and early February, respectively.
Grant sizes range from $250 to $500 each. NEWEC awards approximately four grants a year, depending on available funding.
Use of funds: Grants may be used for the acquisition of school supplies, equipment and student enrichment activities.
Priority will be given to projects impacting underserved student populations.
