  • Waiver Request

    Check and provide further information for all hardship conditions below that apply. Additional instructions and examples are provided for each condition.

  • Example: In this case, an applicant shares recycling with a commercial neighbor and may request to waive requirements to have exterior recycling collection on applicant's property.

    Be sure to upload separately with your application in the CityView Portal:

    • Photos
    • Proof of collection and service such as recycling collection within property, letter of engagement with other commercial property, invoice, or receipt of payment.

    Include with request:

    • Demonstration that the minimum recycling capacity defined in subsection 19-29(a1) is met.
    • Description of constraints, conditions, and current trash collection container placement.
    • Specific request to waive or modify Ordinance No. 2899 requirements.
  • Example: In this case, an applicant that hauls their recycling to a drop-off center or other location may request to waive all Ordinance No. 2899 requirements to have exterior recycling collection on applicant's property.

    • Proof of collection and service such as receipts, gate tickets, etc.

    Include with request:

    • Demonstration that the minimum recycling capacity defined in subsection 19-29(a1) is met.
    • Description of current trash collection and trash collection container placement.
    • Specific request to waive or modify Ordinance No. 2899 requirements.
    • When selecting this condition, applicants may request to waive OR modify the requirements of Ordinance No. 2899.
    • Examples:
      • Property currently has trash dumpster(s) without a screening structure on-site with no room to add recycling. Therefore, applicant requests a waiver to the recycling requirement. In this case there the applicant demonstrates there is no
        • FYI: No Recycling Modification Plan required.
      • Property currently has trash dumpster(s) without a screening structure on-site. Adding recycling means adding a screening structure and the cost to comply includes paying for building plans, permitting fees, and the cost to construct. Therefore, applicant requests a waiver of the compliance timeline of July 31, 2024, and financial assistance to modify structure.
        • FYI: Recycling Modification Plan will be required.
      • Property currently has trash dumpster(s) within a screening structure on-site with no room to add recycling containers within the structure. Adding recycling means modifying the current screening structure and the cost to comply includes paying for building plans, permitting fees, and the cost to construct. Therefore, applicant requests a waiver of the compliance timeline of July 31, 2024, and financial assistance to modify structure.
        • FYI: Recycling Modification Plan may be required.
      • Property currently has trash dumpster(s) within a screening structure on property with limited room to add recycling containers and no space to expand the screening structure. Therefore, applicant requests a reduction in the recycling capacity requirements of 50%.
