  • What is Club 15?

Club 15 is a group for people who are 16 years or older and living with Prader-Willi Syndrome.

In Club 15, members can share information, ideas, and join in social events.

The group meets every month to talk, learn from guest speakers, and have fun together.

There is also a facilitator who helps organise the meetings and supports members.

It's a place where people can support each other, make friends, and be part of a community.

Club 15 also gives members a chance to be involved in decision-making for others living with Prader-Willi Syndrome and helping with important events.

  • Monthly Meetings?

Every month, Club 15 will have a meeting.

One month, we will meet in person, and the next month, we will meet online. If you can't come in person, you can join the meeting online. Meetings will always be on the last Monday of the month.

In the meetings, we will have presentations, guest speakers, information, and social events. Each time, a different Club 15 member will lead the meeting, with help from the facilitator.

The meeting will start with a welcome, then talk about things like what happened in the last meeting, new information, and any news.

The facilitator will send out the meeting plan and notes. Club 15 members can help pick topics for guest speakers. By November, we will decide on the topics for next year.

  • What can I do in Club 15?

In Club 15, there are different roles for people to choose from.

Lead Mentors are people who already have experience and skills. They help others, lead events, and take part in important meetings.

Trainee Mentors are people who want to learn how to be mentors. They work with Lead Mentors and help at events.

Adult Group members are people over 16 who want to share information, ideas, and join in social events. Everyone has a role that fits their skills and interests.

  • Time Out Camp Mentor

The PWSA Victoria Time Out Camp has a role for Mentors and trainee mentors.

Mentors share their knowledge and experience with others, are respectful, and help with camp tasks. They also follow instructions and ask questions when needed. Mentors will help Camp Leaders with activities and sometimes lead an activity themselves. If you are new, you may work with an experienced mentor.

The Mentor Program Facilitator will tell you what activities you will be involved in. Mentors also help set up, run, and clean up activities.

Mentors make everyone feel welcome, are friendly to others, and help campers feel included during the camp.
