Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta Innovation Grant Application

Thank you for applying for a grant from the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta's Innovation Initiative. We look forward to partnering with you in building a stronger Jewish community. The Federation Innovation Fund accelerates Jewish innovation by investing in transformative, creative, scalable, and community-driven projects that reimagine Jewish life in Atlanta. Our goal as an incubator for new ideas in our community is to act as a catalyst to stimulate innovation and create a pipeline of successful new organizations that help impact our growing community.
What you need to know about the Innovation Fund:
Open to Federation’s current partners, new collaborators, Jewish leaders, and organizations, the Innovation Fund provides an average of $25,000 in funding to support the incubation of Atlanta's new ideas.

A few areas of impact that we are looking to fund are (but are not limited to):
- Diverse and inclusive Jewish Engagement;
- Mental, emotional, and social wellbeing;
- Jewish ritual and spiritual life;
- Delivery of social services and justice engaging the Jewish community.
Each project/initiative or program that we fund needs to show intentional Jewish engagement through a Jewish lens.

Along with funding, the Innovation Initiative provides access to our partners at Catchafire. Through this partnership, we provide our grantees with skilled volunteers, services, and support needed to deliver transformational impact to the communities they serve. This is provided through an easy-to-use platform and services that empower nonprofits by enabling them to access expertise and guidance in a wide variety of areas critical to their ability to thrive, including:
- Financial Management;
- Program Development and Evaluation;
- Design and Creative Services;
- Leadership Development and Coaching,
- Marketing and Communications;
- Technology and Web Development.
New to FY25 is our partnership with Alloy Foundation, the Innovation Initiative is excited to help our Grantees establish a pathway to creating a philanthropy strategy.

What type of funding do you need?

A one-time project or pilot program (Either a project that seeks to take an innovative problem-solving approach within an existing organization, or an innovative pilot program providing a new service, initiative, or product.)An ongoing initiative (An innovative, ongoing project that seeks transformative change by pursuing an independent endeavor or building a new organization. A potentially unproven, but important idea, led by an extraordinary person or team that will need support over a few years. Multi-year funding with an annual renewal process.)

How much funding are you requesting for your Innovation grant?
The amount granted may impact the level of oversight and the actions required by Federation. For instance, larger grants may necessitate professional and/or leadership training to enhance the organization’s and/or grantee's development throughout the grant cycle. We encourage you to think meaningfully about the amount requested to make sure it reflects/captures the scale and scope of your project. Please note, the selection committee may award a different amount than requested. Follow-up discussions will be held about your project goals once the amount is awarded to align impact with the amount funded.
