About:
The City of Greensboro's Water Festival is a FREE, one-day celebration and educational adventure focused on water. This event offers approximately 500 Guilford County fifth-grade students (public, private, and home school associations) the chance to engage in fun, hands-on water activities aligned with the fifth-grade curriculum.
When/Where:
The Water Festival is from 9 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Barber Park, 1500 Barber Park Dr. Please plan for students to bring their lunch and a water bottle, as there will be a break in the middle of the day for lunch on-site. We will schedule a lunchtime and location as part of your itinerary. The Water Festival will take place rain or shine, with students transitioning indoors or to sheltered areas in the event of heavy rain.
Details
During the day, students will can participate in a variety of events hosted by the following City of Greensboro departments or offices: Water Resources, Parks and Recreation, Sustainability and Resilience, Solid Waste and Recycling, Greensboro Libraries, and others!
Requirements:
A completed photo release and waiver are required in advance for students to participate. The requisite forms and other information will be provided to selected schools at a later date. We can accommodate up to 500 students, depending on the number of available presenters.
*Registrants will receive notification of the selected schools by January 31, 2025.
