  • SBTT’s Core Values

    • Artistic Expression: We value the arts and believe in the importance of artistic expression.
    • Human Potential: We are committed to supporting people in becoming everything they aspire to be.
    • Entrepreneurial Spirit: We believe in the arts as a vocational path and in artists as entrepreneurs and creators.
    • Compassion: We strive to do all things with compassion, dignity, and respect.
    • Community: We believe in fostering community with one another.
    • Diversity and Inclusivity: We respect neuro-diversity and different life experiences, abilities, and forms of personal and creative expression. We seek to create an environment that is inclusive and respectful of all.

    Studio Conduct and Expectations

We strive to create and maintain an inclusive, welcoming, and safe space. We expect our staff, volunteers, artists, and visitors to contribute to this mission and respect our shared values and codes of conduct.

    • Repeated disruptive, unsafe, or bullying behavior is not conducive to our community space and will not be accommodated. This includes threats or intimidation, stalking, bullying or verbal abuse, gestures of a violent or inappropriate nature, sexual harassment, physical assault, or any other behavior that creates a hostile environment.
    • Be kind, courteous, and patient to everyone. We are a community creative space and rely on the shared respect of each person and their space to maintain a positive studio environment.
    • Follow the instructions and respect requests issued by SBTT staff. Safety is always a shared priority.
    • We must practice consent when engaging and interacting with each other. Always ask consent before touching (including hugging, pats, handshakes, intimate contact etc…) another person, their belongings, or their artwork. When in doubt, ask clearly, listen carefully and communicate clearly.
    • Overtly sexual, violent, discriminatory, or otherwise offensive content is not appropriate for a community setting. While we encourage free exploration in artistic practices, this type of content is better suited for a private setting.
    • SBTT staff, artists, members, volunteers, board and all aspects of its operation and at all levels of the organization shall not tolerate acts of discrimination and shall address any intentional or unintentional acts of discrimination towards an individual or a group of people that creates barriers to access or inclusion.
    • If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, or if you see someone violating SBTT’s policies, please report it to Studio Staff as soon as possible.
    • Individuals not adhering to SBTT policies and codes of conduct may be asked to leave the premises and/or not be permitted to participate in studio activities.
