  • The 2026 Girl Scout Convention is scheduled for July 20-25, 2026 in Washington, D.C. in honor of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the USA. The 57th National Council Session (NCS) is the national business meeting being held during the convention in which delegates from every council across the nation and USA Girl Scouts Overseas meet to discuss, debate, and vote on issues important to the Girl Scout Movement, and elect national leaders for the next triennium.

    The delegates whom Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains is entitled to elect to the NCS of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America are elected every three years. GSGWM NCS Delegate applications will be accepted through December 31, 2024 and followed by interviews in February/March 2025. Our slate of delegates and alternates are expected to be elected in May 2025.

    Applicants must be:

    ·  a United States citizen

    ·  a member of the Girl Scout Movement in the United States

    ·  age 14 years or over (youth member must be 14 years old by June 1, 2025)

    ·  a member of GSGWM throughout the 3 year term

    · available to attend the National Council Session July 20-25, 2026

    If selected, the delegate must commit to:

    ·   participating in delegate training sessions offered by GSGWM

    ·    serving a three-year term as a National Council Session (NCS) Delegate

    ·     participating in National Council Session follow up activities

  • The ideal National Council Session Delegate will have:

    ·   The ability to think strategically and focus on the future of the Girl Scout Movement.

    ·   Experience in policy-influencing and policy-making positions.

    ·  Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the workings of Girl Scout councils and the Movement.

    ·  The ability to analyze issues from a national and council perspective. National Council actions and decisions have Movement-wide implications.

    ·  Commitment to attending council and GSUSA training sessions in order to be as informed as possible about the issues and democratic process utilized at the National Council Session.

    ·  Willingness to support all the decisions of the National Council.
