  • Reviewing the Requirements of the Talks

This section will just be selecting check-boxes. We want to make sure you understand what will be required of you throughout this process (your answers to these questions will be considered by the judges to ensure your talk meets all requirements and may affect if you are chosen as a speaker or not).
  • As part of this program, we not only want to create an impact on high school students, but it is important to us to also provide growth for our speakers. For this reason, you will be required to attend at least one SpeakWestern workshop during the year if you are selected to be a speaker for Math Bridge.

These sessions are held almost once monthly and will likely be between 1-2 hours. You can attend whichever sesison is most convenient for you. More information about these sessions will be provided to you if you are selected to be a speaker.

Additionally, speakers also must attend a 30 minute coaching session with Math Bridge executives before their first talk at a high school to receive feedback.

  • In summary, your time committment to Math Bridge if selected to be a speaker would entail:

    • The preparation of your talk (will vary between speakers)
    • The audition (30 minutes)
    • At least one SpeakWestern workshop (1-2 hours)
    • Coaching session (30 minutes)
    • The actual talk at the high school
  • Additional Questions

The following questions have NO affect on the judging process and will not impact your chances of becoming a speaker. We encourage you to be as open and honest as possible.
