About Radical Writing
Each one-hour session includes: a mindfulness practice, creative writing exercises, and group reflection that inspire both creativity and connection in a nonjudgmental, compassionate space. Research tells us we have to NAME IT (eg. the anxiety, the shame, the frustration, the guilt, the overwhelm) TO TAME IT. Radical writing is a safe space to explore it all and help you write the story that meets YOU where YOU are with compassion and support.
Whether you’re an experienced writer or an expert list-maker, Radical Writing is proof that you don't need to be a "writer" to tap into healing and learn from your beautiful, profound Self via the pen. Numerous studies hold that expressive writing is a useful tool to take care of the person as a whole. There are no writing critiques here; rather, this is a space to tap into YOU in a supportive community.

The 2024 elections are too important. It's my hope that - together - we can build community, enable healing, and own the power of our voices...and our votes. 24% of all proceeds from my launch of Radical Writing here in North Carolina will go to the nonpartisan nonprofit organization, I AM A VOTER, which aims to unify young and marginalized voters around a central truth: our democracy works best when we all participate.
About Mindy Brodsky, LCSW
Since 2020, I have developed and faciliated over 100 expressive arts programs for the wonderful community brought together by Smith Center for Healing and the Arts in Washington, DC, where we serve people impacted by cancer and other chronic illnesses. After almost five years of creating spaces to help others tell their most authentic stories, I am excited to share one of our most beloved programs, Radical Writing, to my community here in North Carolina (and beyond via zoom) for the first time.
I have been so inspired since VP Harris embarked on the path to break the world's most infamous glass ceiling. It has been a long time since I've felt this energized, excited, and hopeful. I couldn't think of a better time to launch my expressive writing workshops here in Raleigh than this moment, while also fundraising to help increase voter participation. Here are some testimonials from my past Radical Writing programs in DC:
