The Edmonton Humane Society is excited to support youth literacy by offering a 30-minute Young Readers Program FREE of charge during Read In Week to classrooms across the City of Edmonton. Every October, teachers and group caregivers can request a visit from one of our Humane Educators for a 30-minute reading session at your facility. Our featured book promotes empathy and compassion for creatures big and small.

Spaces are limited, so don’t delay! Request your visit with preferred dates and times, and our team will do their best to accommodate as many requests as possible.

In 2023, our educators visited over 40 classrooms—this year, we hope to include yours!
