This funding opportunity is designed to support businesses in the Wiltshire Council local authority area, helping you take the next step in strengthening your rural community.

Please note, the average grant made under the scheme will be around £10,000.

Key criteria include the need:

• To have a trading address within a smaller rural place* in Wiltshire Council's Local Authority area and/or deliver a social function and benefit to a smaller rural place within Wiltshire.

• *A smaller rural place excludes locations within the town boundaries of: Amesbury, Bradford on Avon, Calne, Chippenham, Corsham, Devizes, Malmesbury, Marlborough, Melksham, Royal Wootton Bassett, Salisbury, Tidworth, Trowbridge, Warminster & Westbury.

• To have one of the following structures: Sole Trader, Partnership, Limited Company, CIC, LLP, Charity, Co-operative or Community Benefit Society

• To demonstrate that the enterprise has sufficient financial resources available to cash flow the project and provide some match funding

• To be able to complete your project, pay for it and retrospectively claim your grant before 31st March 2025.

Data Protection

The Wiltshire Council Business Fit for Future Grants project is funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) administered by the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC). Within it, Wiltshire Council processes personal data and has an obligation upon request to share it with DLUHC. In order to deliver the project, the project manager may also share it with other departments across Wiltshire Council.

The Wiltshire Council Business Fit for Future Grants project has contractual obligations to collect the data included within this form to record outputs and outcomes, and undertake a project evaluation, so that DLUHC can monitor and evaluate the Prosperity Funds programme.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), in terms of the information processed, the following parties are Data Controllers:

• DLUHC – who determines the purposes and criteria for processing.
• The Lead Authority, Wiltshire Council

On receipt of a fully completed application form, your application will be acknowledged as received and an indication of when a decision on payment is expected will be provided to you. Failure to provide all required information and the volume of applications received may affect this timescale.

Completing this application form does not guarantee the awarding of a grant. An offer letter will be sent to you if your application is approved. The offer letter will include a Start Date for the project. This is the earliest date you will be able to make expenditure on the project. All grant applications are subject to an assessment by Wiltshire Council and the amount offered will be at the discretion of Wiltshire Council and only whilst funds are available.
