    What are Adverse Childhood Experiences? According to the CDC, Adverse Childhood Experiences, or ACEs, are potentially traumatic events that occur in childhood (0–17 years). ACEs can occur in homes, the environment, and in our community. Learn ways to reduce the effects of ACEs on one’s health and wellbeing. Topics discussed are: Trauma: The impact of trauma on the developing brain ACEs Study: Original ACEs study outcomes Resiliency: How to build resiliency
  • Please note that this workshop is only available to local Roanoke Virginia area residents-inclusive of Salem, Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Vinton, Craig County, Botetourt County

     

    Parents receiving services through the Department of Social Services/or are court ordered or highly suggested to take parenting classes:

    Please note that if you are a parent/caregiver that has a caseworker with the Department of Social Services, or if you are court ordered or highly suggested to enroll in a parenting class, you must NOT complete this form, and instead, have your caseworker reach out to Cindy Levasseur at clevasseur@brbh.org to start the referral process.
