Residential Positions
Head Resident (5 WK position)
- This is a residential position, and the HR is responsible for supervising program participants (high school students) and residential staff in the residence halls and during all UBMS-sponsored activities.
- The HR is an integral part of the student’s experience and participates fully in all program-sponsored activities.
- The HR plans & leads recreational, initiative, & team-building activities as well as plans & leads staff development activities.
- The HR department works closely with the administrative staff to make sure all details are taken care of for field trips and activities.
- The HR also chaperons field trips and creates, maintains & enforces a safe, positive, & productive residential hall living environment.
Tutor Counselors (5 WK and 3 WK positions)
- This is a residential position, and the TC is responsible for supervising program participants (high school students) and residential staff in the residence halls and during all UBMS-sponsored activities.
- TCs are an integral part of the student’s experience as TCs attend academic classes with students.
- TCs also chaperon field trips, plan and lead recreational activities, and create, maintain and enforce a safe, positive, and productive residential hall living environment.
Summer 2025 Dates
In order to train and work for our program, applicants must agree that they are available to be on the FSU campus on the following dates. Generally, staff report to work by 8:30 AM on Monday mornings and finish up by 4:30 PM on Friday afternoons. This position requires staff to live in our assigned UBMS summer dorm Monday-Thursday night to help supervise high school students living on campus. Staff may choose to reside in the dorms for the entirety of the program.

Staff Schedule for 2025:

·         June 9-13- Staff Training Week

·         June 16- June 20- Week One

·         June 23- June 27- Week Two

·         June 30- July 3- Week Three (Final Week for 3 Week TCS)

·         July 7- July 11- Week Four

·         July 14-July 18- Week Five (Final Week for 5 Week TCS)

·         July 21- July 24- Senior Week (Optional w/ $400 additional stipend- typically one or two 5 Wk residential staff members may be asked to fill these days)
