  • Application Instructions

    The Southern Colorado Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is awarding up to $2000 in scholarships to outstanding junior or senior-level civil engineering students enrolled in a Southern Colorado University or is a high school graduate from Southern Colorado. The requirements and application instructions for applying for this scholarship are outlined below:

    a. Be a junior or senior level student majoring in an ABET-accredited civil engineering or civil engineering technology program at a Southern* Colorado University.

    OR

    b. A Southern* Colorado High School Graduate who is a junior or senior level student majoring in an ABET-accredited civil engineering or civil engineering technology program.

    AND

    1. Be an active** member of their university’s ASCE student chapter.
    2. Complete the attached application.

    Include an essay explaining student’s reasoning for choosing civil engineering as a major, describing student’s plans after graduation, and highlighting the student’s involvement in ASCE.

    Include one letter of recommendation with a maximum of 400 words from a non-relative.

    Include a copy of the student’s college transcripts (unofficial copy).

    Must include a copy of the student’s resume.

    All applications and accompanying materials must be submitted by November 29, 2024 at 12:00 pm MT to asce.scb.scholarship@gmail.com. The Southern Colorado Branch anticipates awarding this scholarship by December 13, 2024.

    *Southern Colorado encompasses the following Colorado Counties: Teller, El Paso, Lincoln, Cheyenne, Fremont, Pueblo, Crowley, Kiowa, Custer, Otero, Bent, Prowers, Huerfano, Las Animas, and Baca.
