    Call for Locations

  • AMS is seeking venues for our 2025-26 Regional Symposium schedule. At these events the local AMS community joins together for a day of workshops presented by local speakers and spotlights focused on current practice and Maria Montessori's timeless philosophy. We look forward to seeing you at a regional symposium near you!

    Location Requirements

    Active Member School or Affiliated TEP status is required in order to be considered as a host location.

    Venue

    1. The auditorium/gymnasium or main space should comfortably seat 250 attendees at round or rectangular tables for eight to ten people with space for refreshment tables.
    2. Four smaller spaces for breakout sessions, which should each fit a minimum of fifty classroom or theater style (in adult size chairs).
    3. Ample free parking within reasonable range of the facility entrance.
    4. Entry or foyer with adequate space for registration tables and vendor tables.

    A/V

    1. The auditorium or main space should have a large screen, projector, audio and microphone.
    2. Breakout spaces should have a projector/screen and audio.
    3. Macs and PCs should be able to plug directly into the on site AV, or emailed to the school for presentation.

    Facilities

    1. Custodial needs are the responsibility of the school.
    2. Tables/chairs should be available on site or provided at the school’s expense.
    3. Facility rental fee should be waived or reduced (AMS is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, and your in kind donation is tax deductible).

    Facilities items donated are considered sponsorship items, and will be recognized as such.

    Committee Requirements

    Summary

    Each local committee should be made up of three to five Montessorians from the school and/or local Montessori community.

    1. Committee members will be expected to participate in monthly planning meetings with the AMS Regional and Events Team.
    2. Committee members will participate in review and selection of local workshop presenters.
    3. Committee members are volunteers and are not compensated for these duties, but will receive complimentary registration to their Regional Symposium.
    4. We appreciate the volunteers on site; however, we are unable to offer complimentary registration to volunteers.

    Sponsorship & Donations

    1. Committee members will solicit sponsorship or donations of food, coffee, water, local swag, etc. from local businesses and organizations and/or Montessori businesses and organizations.
    2. AMS Regional and Events Team will support solicitation of goods and services and will provide documentation of tax exemption.

    Volunteer Management

    Committees will recruit and organize eight to ten volunteers to assist during the symposium and with any set up requirements pre-event and breakdown post event.

    Volunteer duties include:

    • Registration and check-in assistance
    • Tote Bag stuffing
    • Set up and break down
    • Facility guidance
    • Package and supply sorting
    • On site tech support
