Australian Youth Beach Volleyball Championships

The Australian Youth Beach Volleyball Championships is Australia’s premier beach volleyball tournament. Queensland has had incredible success at this tournament, defending the President's Trophy as overall champion state since 2015.

The Championships comprises Under 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 age groups for girls and boys and will be held;

24 – 27 March 2025 at Coolangatta Beach                                       

 

Volleyball Queensland is seeking an application from;

• mentor coaches with a VA Level 3 accreditation who have previous experience in a mentorship, leadership or an educational role focusing on sports coaching is highly desirable with a contemporary technical and tactical understanding of the game at a high performance/ elite standard of play having been active in the sport over the past five years

 

• volleyball coaches who are experienced in representative team programs and qualified with a VA Level 3 accreditation to appoint as age group head coaches and/or

 

• volleyball coaches who are qualified with minimum VA Level 2 accredidation to under take assistant coach roles

in the five available girls and boys age groups.

All appointed coaches will be required in the late October to late March period to:

1. Contribute to the identification of squad members at the trial on October 26th
2. Conduct Trainings as scheduled
3. Attend the compolsury age group specific tournaments
4. Coach and supervise team/s at the Championships
5. Complete a coaches workshop with the Mentor Coach

Applications will close Friday 20th September 2024.

All applicants must hold a current Qld WWCC Blue Card across the entirety of the program. 

Final coach selections will be undertaken by the Volleyball Queensland State Team Program Committee and recommended to the Volleyball Queensland Board for approval.

Coaching Preference

You must advise what role (Mentor Coach, Head Coach or Assistant Coach) you would like to play and in which program female or male and age group, knowing this may be different to that offered by VQ in structuring the overall experience for the teams and players.

• if applying for more than one program or role, prioritise your choice in your supporting Volleyball Coaching Statement.
• if you are a parent of a player trialling for a position, you will not be assigned to that age & gender, or involved in selections of that age & gender.

All Volleyball Queensland State Team Coaches are required to hold and maintain over the program their Volleyball Queensland membership.

All State Team Coaches are required to hold a valid Blue Card linked to Volleyball Queensland before taking court with athletes under 18 years of age.

Volleyball Coaching Statement 

Please provide a statement, which includes;

• your recent team coaching activity in 2022, 2023 & 2024 ie what teams, what competition, the number of trainings and matches in which you coached.
• for head coaches your most recent representative team coaching position.
• your philosphy in preparing a team of talented youth players to compete in the Australian Youth Beach Volleyball Championships.
• if applying for more than one program or role, prioritise your choices.
• an indication of coaches you may wish to 'work with' in this program.

Please advise if you hold volleyball refereeing accrediation and/or First Aid/Responder qualifications.
