The Adelaide Health Foundation is committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent the study of nursing at Tallaght University Hospital.
Bursaries are provided from the voluntary funds of the Adelaide Health Foundation and the awarding of a bursary is solely within the discretion of the Foundation.
Applications are open to 1st, 2nd and 3rd year student nurses who are attached to Tallaght University Hospital.
If you have narrowly missed out on SUSI funding due to level of household income, you may still be eligible for AHF Bursary

Please Read the Following Terms Carefully
Bursary award is on means tested income
Basis for assessment (“Who” is Means Tested/Assessed)
· For mature dependent applicants (over 23 residing with and dependent on their parents/guardians) - the income of the applicant’s parents/guardians will be assessed.
· For Independent mature applicants - the full household income will be assessed.
**While the assessment will be made for the income year prior to the year of entry (i.e. last year's income), if you have given up employment in order to study nursing, this will be taken into consideration.
Required Documentation
Before you proceed, please have the following documents ready to submit[upload].
- Proof of all income is required for each relevant section. e.g
- If income is from Department of Social Protection, provide Social welfare statements from last year[2023]
- If income is from employment provide the Employment Detail Summary/Statement of Liability (former P21) for 2023.
- If income was from Self-Employment/Farming please submit your 2023 Form 11 return summary or Business Accounts (with Tax exemption if applicable)
- If income was from other sources e.g. Investments, Life Bonds etc. you must submit bank statements for 2023
- Proof of registration as a student at TCD. You must be a Registered Student at Trinity College Dublin
- Proof of SUSI grant OR letter of refusal for your current [2024] application
- Proof of address of each person whose income is being assessed is required.
Providing Details
- Password protected pdfs will be rejected.
- In certain circumstances, further documentation may be required
- If you are unsure whether a source of income should be included in your application, you should provide details of this income.
- You may supply a description of your own or your family’s circumstances in the ‘Special Circumstances' section if you feel that it would be helpful in assessing the application.
- AHF bursaries must be re-applied for every year
