    RENOVATE BAY TWO THE PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY 
  • Project Summary

    The City of Hardeeville, South Carolina (“City”), is requesting bids from qualified contractors for the renovation of Bay 2 of the Public Works facility to provide workspace for fleet vehicle maintenance and repair operations. Project site: 1612 Plantation Dr. Hardeeville, SC 29927
    • Scope of Work
      Provide qualified personnel and equipment to perform the following:
      a. Mobilize and stage equipment and materials at location within proximity of Public
      Works facility (specific location TBD). Public Works (PWD) will assist with
      identifying location.
      b. Demolish existing wooden two-floor structure.
      c. Remove existing 12’ x 12’ roll up door and install new 12’ x 12’ roll up door with
      automatic opening capability.
      d. Install 2 new 8’ x 10’ roll up doors.
      e. Install 1 new 36” personnel door.
      f. Construct modular office space (city provided).
      g. Install protective bollards with, anchored in concrete with adequate structural
      support to protect modular office space from any vehicle load that may approach the
      office space.
      h. Remove existing and install new adequately sized HVAC system.
      i. Update existing restroom with new fixtures (sink, toilet, exhaust fan, and adequately
      sized water heater).
      j. Patch and paint interior walls (color TBD).
      k. Install new electrical, properly routed and tied into existing electrical panel.
      l. Properly dispose of all debris.
      m. Demobilize upon completion.

    City’s Right to Amend or Cancel IFB
    The City reserves the right to amend or cancel this IFB at any time. Any
    amendments must be made in writing prior to the IFB closing date and time.

    Revising, or Cancelling a Submitted Bid
    In the event that a Contractor desires to revise or cancel a submitted bid, the Contractor must notify the City in writing of their intention to revise or cancel a bid prior to the IFB closing date and time. A revised bid must be received by the City prior to the IFB closing date and time.

     

  • Standard Insurance Requirements
    If awarded a contract, the Contractor shall procure and maintain insurance which shall protect the Contractor and the City (as an additional insured) from claims for bodily injury, property damage, or personal injury. The Contractor shall maintain the following insurance coverage with an insurance company licensed to do business in the State of South Carolina:


    Workers Compensation: Insurance covering all employees meeting statutory
    limits in compliance with applicable State and Federal laws.


    General and Automobile Liability:
    Bodily injury, each occurrence $ 500,000.00
    Bodily injury, aggregate $ 500,000.00
    Property Damage $ 100,000.00
    Business Auto Liability per occurrence $1,000,000.00
    Excess Umbrella Liability per occurrence $1,000,000.00
    It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor and the Insurance Company to
    notify the City at least thirty (30) days prior to any cancellation or change in the
    policy.
    Contractor will provide the City of Hardeeville with a copy of the certificate of insurance specifying the above limits have been met.

  • Bid Evaluation
    Upon close of the IFB, proposals will be reviewed by City Staff to determine the
    bid’s compliance with IFB requirements, if the Contractor’s proposal passes the
    Administrative/Preliminary review, the proposal will be submitted to the City Manager for evaluation and action.


    Assignability
    The Contractor may not assign this agreement or any of its rights or responsibilities
    hereunder without prior written consent from the City.

    Default and Termination
    Failure of the Contractor to comply with the provisions of the contract documents shall constitute default thereof. The City shall give the contract written notice of any default; the Contractor shall have fifteen (15) calendar days from the receipt of such written notice to cure the default. Upon failure of refusal of the Contractor to cure any such default, the City shall have the right to terminate this agreement and undertake such legal and other proceedings, in law or equity, and to seek recovery of such damages, as may be allowed by law, including, but not limited to, reasonable attorney fees and costs.
