Do you want to make your research reports more compelling? Do you want to understand what makes good writing? Do you want to feel more confident in the entire writing process? Then this training is for you!
Our all-day training session takes you through how to better write for impact with a specific focus on writing in the think tank sector. It is a practical, tailored session that will take you through the mechanics of writing and style, the use of data and planning, drafting and editing your work effectively. You will be editing your own writing during the session to make sure that the course content is practical and actionable.
The day will be a mixture of exercises, group activities and theory with a heavy focus on interactive learning. Attendees will leave the day with clear idea of ways to improve your work. All attendees will be asked to bring along an unedited and unpublished piece of writing (700 - 800 words) and a plan or idea for a report. You will be working with your peers from other think tanks and attendees will be encouraged to share best practice, build networks and learn from each other.
