Lesson Agreement Form
❖ Lessons will average of 1 to 1.5 hours depending on lesson package purchased.
❖ A horse will be assigned to the rider, dependent upon the lesson plan for the day.
❖ All lessons must be paid for in full for the month by or before the 1st of the month, considered late after the 1st, to which there will be a $25 late fee. Lesson tuition must be paid before the first lesson of the month or you will be automatically removed from the program. **Please discuss with your instructor if you are interested in mid month enrollment & dues or are joining the program after the first week of the month. All lesson dues are NON REFUNDABLE.
❖ To cancel a lesson, the instructor must be contacted *24 hours in advance* of lesson and make up-day will be scheduled. No makeups for last minute cancellations. In case of emergency, please contact instructor as soon as possible. There is a 30 day window for makeups before missed lesson expires.
❖ If a rider is late to a lesson, the lesson will still end at the scheduled ending time of the original lesson and the full amount will be charged. Any lesson students arriving 15 minutes after the start of the lesson time are considered a no show, and the instructor reserves the right to consider the lesson canceled due to no notice.
❖ No shows and no notice for lesson cancellations will be charged in full and a make up day will not be allotted. No refunds.
❖ Acceptable forms of payment are cash, Venmo, or credit/debit card through Square invoicing.
❖ Upon completion of the required introductory lesson, all students are required to get a certified riding helmet & proper riding boots. Long pants are required to ride at any time. Oakwood Farm reserves the right to decline conduction of any lessons until these items are purchased. This is for the safety of your child.
❖ Oakwood Farm reserves the right to request immediate removal of any photos, videos or audio that may have a negative impact on our program or agents. If you choose not to abide by the request to remove any unfavorable content, it will result in immediate removal from our program with no refunds, credits or further association with our program.
❖ In barn lessons are mandatory during inclement weather, forgotten equipment (helmet, proper shoes, etc) or welfare of horse unless otherwise rescheduled or discussed with instructor.
❖ All borrowed equipment during lessons (tack, bridle, saddle, etc) will be cleaned and cared for after every ride and student will be responsible for cleaning up after themselves which includes manure, putting up hoses, equipment, etc.
❖ A 30 day notice is required upon exiting program. A lack of proper notice will decline reentry into our program without a $100 severance fee. With proper notice, no fee will be required to reenter our program at a later date. ❖ Oakwood Farm has a ZERO drama tolerance policy extending to riders, parent/guardians, and any guests, toward behaviors exhibiting any form of bullying, harassment, or any other such behaviors that are considered negative toward any person or animal, whether at home, shows, or any other functions. We want to maintain a positive, encouraging environment at Oakwood. Any student can be removed from the program without notice if found breaking this rule, and no refunds will be allotted for any future services that will be canceled.
❖ Your instructor is not guaranteed, Oakwood Farm serves the right to make changes in schedule and changes in instructor to create better opportunity for well rounded and varying perspectives in riding, cultivating a broader riding education. You are not guaranteed the same instructor for each lesson. ❖ Lesson type is not guaranteed in a makeup lesson. We will do our best to accomodate, however scheduling conflicts may not give you priority to your purchased lesson type outside of your regularly scheduled lesson time. Oakwood Farm will do our best to accomodate your preferred lesson type, however there is no guarantee that there are any specific openings. Invoices will be adjusted for any changes monthly (ex., if you are in a group and someone drops out, you will automatically be placed in a semi-private lesson. Invoices willbe adjusted accordingly in the case someone rejoins mid month. ❖ Your instructor serves the right to determine a rider unfit for group or semi-private lessons if riding skill shows concerns for safety (personal, equine, and of others in arena). If there are no immediate openings, you will be placed at the top of our waitlist to get back on the schedule.
❖ If you have disclosed any prior riding related accidents, it is understood and acknowledged that a safety riding vest will be strongly recommended.
Failure to meet any of the above requirements will result in termination of lessons. Oakwood Farm (Oakwood Sport Horses LLC) reserves the right the amend the lesson requirements at any time.
