Suicide Prevention Training: Question, Persuade, Refer
Date: September 25th, 5:00-6:30pm
September is suicide prevention awareness month. In honor of this important month, join Reach Out! and the Walla Walla County Department of Community Health for a suicide prevention training. During this training participants will learn how to: identify clues or warning signs of suicide, ask someone if they're thinking about suicide, persuade someone thinking about suicide to get help and where to refer people to services. This training will be located at the Walla Walla Public Library, 238 E Alder St, Walla Walla, WA, 99362.
Please note that this training will talk directly about suicide, suicide attempts and suicidal ideation. This content may be emotionally elevating for some individuals. This training is not recommended for anyone that has recently (within the last 60 days) lost a loved one to suicide. This training is open to anyone 15 years of age or older. However, those under the age of 18 should be accompanied by a parent/guardian/caretaker. If you have questions about this training, please contact Cassidy Brewin, Suicide and Opioid Prevention Coordinator for Walla Walla County Department of Community Health at cbrewin@co.walla-walla.wa.us
