"Battleground: Good vs Evil" Art Exhibit Celebrates Creativity Inspired by the Rochester Civic Theatre’s Upcoming Production of "Dracula" Rochester, Minn. - The Rochester Civic Theatre (RCT) is thrilled to announce its latest exhibit, "Battleground: Good vs Evil," in conjunction with the upcoming production of "Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors." This evocative showcase will run from October 21-November 26.This unique art exhibit will feature works that delve into the duality of good and evil, inviting artists of all ages and backgrounds to explore the theme from two very distinct perspectives. From the metaphorical teeth—creepy, ominous, mysterious, and unsettling—to the reassuring symbols that ward off evil spirits, such as crosses, garlic, gargoyles, and the evil eye. Artists are encouraged to creatively interpret these themes in a variety of mediums, including collage, batik, mixed media, paintings, printmaking, altered photography, sculpture, and more.“Everyone is capable of good and evil. We’re excited to see how each individual’s perspective, relating to this theme, drives the artistic creation,” said RCT’s Art Coordinator, Marie Marvin. "This is an opportunity for both seasoned and emerging artists to showcase their creativity to our community."
Exhibit dates: October 21-November 26

Artist Entry deadline: October 11

Artwork delivery: October 16-17 from 12:00-2:00 pm, unless otherwise arranged with Marie through email.

Reception: October 23, 5:30-7:00 pm
Artist Guidelines:

1. Artwork may be any medium as long as it follows the theme of Good or Evil.
2. All 2-D work must be ready for hanging by a single hook. Framing is optional but edges must be finished.
3. Price the artwork to include a 25% commission for the theatre.
4. Registration is only complete when the $10 entry fee is received online.
5. We request artists to attend the reception, if possible, and invite guests to enjoy with us.
